This is a six hour class ,all range, that teaches the student the basic defensive pistol skills needed to survive a violent confrontation with a pistol. Comprehensive and intensive in its approach to develop strong fundamental techniques, build confidence and create a defensive mindset. This course will challenge the intermediate and advanced shooter alike.
What You Will Learn:
Tactical shooting positions; grip, stance, sight picture, trigger control etc.
Shooting a defensive group
Engaging multiple targets
Drawing from concealment clothing
Shooting while moving
Shooting from a barricade
Shooting with support hand (offhand)
Prerequisites and safety requirements:
This is an intermediate to advanced level pistol course. All shooters must demonstrate outstanding muzzle control and be already familiarized with the firearm they are using. No firearm safety violations will not be tolerated. Unsafe Shooters will be ejected from the class without refund or warning.
(required to have completed or obtained ONE of the following)
Successful completion and passing of a Texas CHL course
Military pistol qualification within the last two years (must present DD214)
Attended and passed the NRA basic Pistol course or equivalent professional handgun training course
Minimum of two hours of private handgun instruction with Spartan Defense instructor
Compact frame handguns are not recommended for this course
Minimum of 200 rounds of FMJ ammo
Strong-side retention holster that covers the trigger, (soft-nylon style holsters will not be allowed).
minimum of two magazines or speed loaders with loader pouch
Strong belt, preferably a tactical style belt
Conceal Clothing: long t-shirt, vest, jacket etc.
Hat or visor
ear protection and eye protection
