NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home Course
Comprehensive and intensive in its approach to equip the defensive shooting candidate with the skills needed to survive serious adversity.
-Learn & practice engaging a threat from a vehicle simulating a car jacking
-Learn to scan for, engage and defend against; multiple threats with live firing drills
-Training that can be used for protection in common everyday life scenarios
-Learn to draw from concealed clothing correctly and safely
-Learn to reload quickly properly and on the move
-Learn to shoot from different positions
-Learn to take cover and return fire
You must meet the ONE of the following requirements to be eligible
-Taken and passed the NRA Basic Pistol Class or Pistol class from another accredited training School
-Taken at least 2.5 hours of private shooting lessons with us specifically to evaluate your skills and teach you the ones you will need for this course (discounted for people who sign up for this class)
-Taken OUR CHL class within one year and consider yourself to have proper firearm safety skills and disciplined mussel control
-Be active duty or honorably discharged from the armed forces and qualified with the pistol in the service
-Be currently TCLEOSE Certified as a Police Officer or Armed Guard
-Be certified by the state of Texas as a level three commissioned or level 4 Personal protection Officer

NRA BASIC PERSONAL PROTECTION IN THE HOME (PPITH)
This course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm) to maximize what can be learned from this course.
The course teaches students the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home. From a review of safe firearms handling and proper mindset to presentation from concealment and multiple shooting positions, this course contains the essential skills and techniques needed to prevail in a life-threatening situation.
NRA BASICS OF PERSONAL PROTECTION OUTSIDE THE HOME COURSE: BASIC AND ADVANCED(PPOTH)
(This is the most advanced Civilian Firearms course offered by the NRA).
The NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home is divided into two levels (basic and advanced).BASIC:offers the essential knowledge and skills that must be mastered in order to carry, store, and use a firearm safely and effectively for personal protection outside the home. Upon completion of BASIC, students will attend ADVANCED which is an additional five-seven hours of range training and teaches advanced shooting skills. should expect to spend alot of time on the range and shoot a minimum of 300 rounds of ammunition.
