Spartan Defense Has discovered that Budo Taijutsu aka Bujinkan or "Ninjutsu" is one of the most,if not the most, effective and realistic combat martial art in the world. Budo Taijutsu teaches survival techniques unlike many arts that teach competition. The use and disarming of firearms, Knives and melee weapons is primary in this art as well as role playing of real life worst case scenerios. Practice doesn't include participation in competitions or contests, as the school's training aims to develop the skills to protect ones self and others through the use of techniques which often focus on the disabling (breaking) of the attacker's limbs and which can also potentially cause their death.
This training is conducted in a manner similar to aikido, where there are predefined 'attackers' (uke) and 'defenders' (tori). However, the Bujinkan differs from aikido in that the training is rarely centred around specific predefined sets of movements (kata). Instead, Bujinkan training mostly consists of spur-of-the-moment, slow motion and dynamic 'techniques' during which the 'defender' (tori) hit, lock, choke and/or throw the 'attacker' (uke); this slow motion simulated fighting is made possible by the nature of the 'attacker's' behaviour after the initial 'attack'. More advanced training consists of taking the attackers mind by means of pain through various techniques. However, the practitioners do so in a manner that leaves little room for permanent injury.
Bujinkan does not adhere to any official guideline or set of rules to limit action or techniques during training. However, since training entirely consists of pain compliance and cooperation between training partners, many of the staple responses of a Bujinkan student would be inappropriate and or lethal in most competitions. Specifically however, the Bujinkan is mostly known for teaching koshi jutsu (joint manipulation art), koppo jutsu (bone manipulation art), jutai jutsu (throwing, grappling, ground fighting), dakentai jutsu (strikes), happo biken jutsu (various modern and traditional weapons), and ninpo tactics and strategies (Ninjutsu). The depth of training in the Bujinkan is designed to open the eyes of the student to the endless possibilities and potential in all situations. This martial art is largely based on combat, it is used to protect oneself from attack and not for competition purposes. Because of its nature, many of the techniques can result in permanent and major injuries or even death. Safety and care is always taken seriously during training sessions; when practicing techniques, one must be careful to not injure their Uke (practice partner).
